Do smartwatches cause cancer?
Ok now, there are people who are overcautious to the point of absurdity. There is a special type of health enthusiast who promotes the saying that ‘your devices cause cancer’. The TV, Freezer, radio, food, smart devices, computer screens, laptops, and the list is neverending. According to the World Cancer Research Fund website, there were about 18 million cancer patients worldwide in 2020.
Now, according to the research, there were about 722 million connected wearable devices worldwide in 2019. Now, let us ask a logical question. If smartwatches are definite causes of cancer, then why only 18 million people are suffering whereas the number of wearable users far exceeds the number? So, if we are looking for a definite cause of cancer then smartwatch is not the one you are looking for.
A recent article in The New York Times claimed that wearable health monitors could give you cancer. But later it was clarified that it is not true. Although your smartphones should stay far away from your body for the sake of your health, wearable health trackers are not. They should be on your body so you can become inspired and active to increase the condition of your health.
So, if you are always on your phone, and still afraid of your smartwatch, then you should drop that addiction to your cell phone and be more active in the gym or the park. Do some exercise out in the open air, and live a good life. Your Smartwatches do not give you cancer.
